Geneva S. Kutcher, age 90, of Roxboro, NC and formerly of Hixton, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 in Person Memorial Hospital, Roxboro, NC. Geneva was born on March 2, 1920 in Halifax County, VA to Samuel Barnett Woody and Mary Elizabeth (Coleman) Woody. She was the wife of the late Leonard Joseph Kutcher of Hixton. Geneva and her late husband Leonard had lived and farmed in the Hixton area for many years. Following the death of Leonard, Geneva moved to Roxboro, NC. She was a member of the Roxboro Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Nancy (Richard) Zarovy of Hixton, Donna (Thomas) Zarovy of Bristol, WI, Sonia (James) Hicks of Black River Falls, and Beverly (Danny) Smith of American Canyon, CA; a son, Michael (Karen) Kutcher of Hixton; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Bowes of Roxboro, NC; a brother, Louis Woody of Burlington, NC; a sister-in-law, Laura Kutcher of Hixton; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arthur and Janis Kutcher of Hixton; and numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann; a granddaughter, Kimberly Smith; 4 sisters; and 3 brothers. Funeral services were held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Taylor Lutheran Church, Taylor, WI, and burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery, rural Taylor. Pastor Ben Ahles-Iverson officiated. Family members and friends were invited for visitation from noon until 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 11, at the Taylor Lutheran Church.
