Patricia J. (Mrs. Norbert, Sr.) Johnson, age 75, of Black River Falls died on Friday, August 14, 2009 in her home under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice. Patricia Joan Swift was born on February 22, 1934 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Ralph and Romaine (McCready) Swift. She was raised in Indiana and Illinois In 1948, she moved to Chicago. She received an associate degree in accounting from Clackamas Community College, Clackamas, Oregon. In 1950, she married Norbert Johnson, Sr. The couple lived in various places including California, Oregon, and Wisconsin. Patricia owned and operated Granite Bookkeeping Service for 18 years in Red Granite, WI, the Tea Cup Café in California, and Granny’s Day Care in Mulino, Oregon. She was a member of the Nottaway Tribal Community of North Carolina and a former member of the Stone Park Fire Department Auxiliary of Stone Park, IL. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tole painting, singing, and water color painting. Survivors include her husband, Norbert Johnson, Sr. of Black River Falls; a daughter, Kathy Johnson of Sarasota, FL; 5 sons, Frank (Dedra) Johnson of Bradenton, FL, Norbert (Robbin Autmon) Johnson, Jr. of Vinita Park, MO, Tim (Nora) Johnson of Sarasota, FL, David (Sabine) Johnson, of San Antonio, TX, and Ben Johnson, of Iron Wood, MI; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a sister, Meredith Witt, of Decatur, IL. Patricia was the proud mother of 4 U.S. veterans. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ralph Swift. In accordance with Patricia’s wishes, there will be no services or visitation.
