Emil P. Nandory, age 74, of rural Taylor (Town of Springfield), Jackson County, WI, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, after a brief battle with Burkitt’s Lymphoma.
Emil Paul Nandory was born on December 21, 1935 to Emil and Pauline (Holub) Nandory in Chicago, IL. He came to Jackson County in 1936 and graduated from Taylor High School in 1954. Following his high school graduation, Emil joined the National Guard.
He married Arbadella “Arby” German on September 9, 1957 in Black River Falls.
Emil was first employed at Fisher Body of Janesville, WI. He returned to the Taylor area in 1958 and farmed there until his death.
He was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1961 and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. He served with the 32nd Red Arrow Division and was a tank driver.
Emil enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also loved farming and caring for his animals. He was known by many and loved by all who knew him.
He was a member of the Taylor Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Arbadella “Arby” Nandory; 4 children, Duane Nandory of Taylor, Debra (Richard) Andazola of River Falls, Randy (Heidi) Nandory of Eau Claire, and Kristal (Peter) Suckut of Clear Lake; 7 grandchildren, Jeanette (Roger Sanz) Andazola, Andrea (Ken Dolle) Andazola, Zachariah Andazola, Nathan Nandory, Jacob Nandory, Natasha Beck, and Patrick Suckut; 3 great grandchildren, Jayden, Haileigh, and Izaiah; a brother-in-law, Lloyd German; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Emil was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Lou and Fred Jenson.
Memorial services will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at the Taylor Lutheran Church. Rev. Ben Ahles-Iverson will officiate. Military rites by the Miles-Hagen American Legion Post 200 and the Thompson-RedCloud VFW Post 1959 both of Black River Falls will also be held at the church on Saturday.
Family members and friends are invited for visitation from 1:30 P.M. until 3 P.M. on Saturday at the church.
The family prefers, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be given to the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
The Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, is assisting the family with arrangements.
