Eleanor L. Hackett, age 85 of Black River Falls and formerly of Genesee and Hatfield, WI, died Friday, May 21, 2010 in Black River Memorial Hospital under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice. Eleanor Lucille McNett was born on April 6, 1925 in Waukesha, WI to Lloyd and Mayme (Kohlhaas) McNett. She was raised in Genesee, WI. She was employed by the Amron Corporation of Waukesha for 30 years. She married Gordon E. Hackett on March 12, 1945 in Waukesha. She moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 2003 and to Hatfield in 2009. Most recently, she had been a resident of the Pine View Terrace of Black River Falls. Eleanor was an avid reader. She also enjoyed gardening. Survivors include a daughter, Linda LaPorte of Hatfield; a granddaughter, Lisa (Chad) Gilbertson of Wisconsin Rapids: great grandchildren, Tyler Hackett, Marcie Gilbertson, and Kennedy Gilbertson; 2 sisters, Jean (Gilbert) Burmeister of Loganville, WI and Hazel (Charles) Samuels of Sussex, WI; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gordon E. Hackett, and a son, Dean G. Hackett. In accordance with Eleanor’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
