 | | | | Donald D. Bruley, age 58, of rural Tomah and formerly of the Black River Falls area, died Friday, March 26, 2010 in his home under the care of Hospice Touch. Don was born on February 26, 1952 in the Shamrock area of Jackson County, rural Black River Falls, to Hugh and Georgina (Singleton) Bruley. He was raised in Shamrock and served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1974. He had lived in various locations including Virginia, Illinois and Colorado, before settling in the Tomah area in 1999. Don was employed in law enforcement (civil service) for 33 years. He retired from the Department of the Army at Fort McCoy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and motorcycling. Survivors include 4 sisters, RoseAlyce Johnson and Gertrude Marco both of Melrose, Rhoda (John) Meyers of Oakland, AR, and Loretta Doescher of Round Lake Beach, IL; a brother, Richard (Lois) Bruley of Onalaska; sisters-in-law, Arliss Bruley of Black River Falls, Ellen Bruley of Tomah, Charlene Bruley of Aurora, CO, and Linda Bruley of Rochester, NY; several nieces and nephews: and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Georgina Bruley; brothers, Warren, John, Robert, Edwin, William, and Marvin; and a sister, Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, April 3, 2010 from the Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls. Eugene Bruley will officiate and burial with military honors by Neil S. Lewison American Legion Post 439, Melrose, will be in the Oxbow Cemetery, rural Melrose. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Saturday, April 3, at the Buswell Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Hospice Touch, 300 Butts Ave., Tomah, WI 54660.
