Pearline M. Welsh-Durham, age 68, of Black River Falls died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. Pearline Marie Rhoades was born on August 25, 1941 in Black River Falls to Amasa and Alice (Hurlburt) Rhoades. She was raised in the Black River Falls area. She married Raymond Welsh on January 14, 1966 in Black River Falls and he died in 1986. She later married George Durham and he also died. Pearline had been employed at a Subway Store in Waukesha and as a nursing assistant at Pine View Care Center of Black River Falls. In addition to having lived in Black River Falls, she had also lived in Arcadia, Waukesha, Pewaukee, Boscobel, Lyndon Station, and Taylor. Pearline was a former member of the Salvation Army of Waukesha. She enjoyed picture puzzles, watching television, cross stitching, knitting, and crocheting. Survivors include 4 daughters, Marie (Tony) Johnson of Whitehall, Lee Ann Mortenson of Taylor, Rose (Gordon) Iverson of Millston, and Linda (David) Schumacher of Hixton; 11 grandchildren, Joseph Swartling, Danielle Bettesworth, Nicholas Bettesworth, Dustin Mortenson, Nathan Mortenson, Alicia Mortenson, Jarred Mortenson, and Derick Mortenson, Travis Johnson, Smantha Iverson, and Daniel Iverson; 5 great-grandchildren, Jamie Swartling Meister, Alex Florentino, Lilianna Higgins, Jozalin Johnson, and Jadon Severson; and a brother, Gaylord (Nancy) Rhoades of Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amasa and Alice, both husbands, and a step great-grandson, Adam Coleman. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Buswell Funeral Home and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, both in Black River Falls. Pastor Calvin Thoreson will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials to the family are preferred.
