Roy M. Myher Black River Falls, WI Roy Melford Myher, age 89, of Black River Falls, WI, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at Country Terrace, while under the care of Black River Hospice. He was born February 15, 1920, to Alfred and Mamie (Olson) Myher in Osseo, WI. While growing up and before entering the Navy, Roy did some farming. Following the military, Roy was united in marriage to Virginia R. Torgerson on May 19, 1951 in Black River Falls. The couple resided in Merrillan, WI for 11 years before moving into Brockway in 1963. For 31 years, Roy worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad, where he did rail maintenance before retiring. Roy enjoyed making and fixing clocks, steam and gas engines, flea markets, made miniature tools, fishing, hunting, auctions, watching TV (Price is Right, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune) He was a violin player, enjoyed listening to old time music, and going to Memorial Pow Wow. Roy loved spending time with his family and visiting with others. He was a member of Thompson-RedCloud VFW Post 1959. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia; 2 daughters, Linda (Ken) Krosinski of Black River Falls, WI, Kathy (Steve Beck) Stendahl of River Falls, WI; 4 grandchildren, Cory Myher of Black River Falls, Chad Krosinski of Black River Falls, Sarah Hunter of Alma Center, Chelsea Glasspoole of La Crosse; 6 great grandchildren, Brooke Hartwig, Morgan Myher, Aaron Hunter, Olyvea Hunter, Aumeira Krosinski, and Ainsley Krosinski; brother, Lyle Myher of Osseo, WI, other relatives and friends. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mamie; 3 brothers, Maynard, Arthur, Albin; infant sister, Adeline. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009, 2:00 p.m., at Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, WI. Reverend Ramie Bakken will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in Sullivan Cemetery, Black River Falls, WI. Family and friends are invited for visitation Friday, October 16, 2009, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., at Buswell Funeral Home. Family and friends are also invited for visitation on Saturday, October 17, 2009, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
