 | | | | Allen M. Larson, age 81, of Black River Falls, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. He was born on August 2, 1929 in La Crosse to Elmer and Viola (Melby) Larson.
Allen was raised in La Crosse and moved with his family to Black River Falls in the mid 1940’s. He attended schools in La Crosse and Black River Falls and graduated from Black River Falls High School.
He was employed by the Jackson Box Factory of Black River Falls for 22 years. He later became employed as a custodian at the Black River Falls Evangelical Lutheran Church for 37 years. He currently was employed on part-time basis at the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Allen was a faithful and active member of the Black River Falls Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed cars, NASCAR, collecting model cars, coffee time with Dick Lindow, going for walks, and going to La Crosse for Sunday afternoon dinner at the Country Kitchen.
Survivors include 2 brothers, David (Linda) Larson of Baldwin, WI and Richard (Cleone) Larson of Savage, MN; a special cousin and friend, Wallen “Wally” (Ricky) Capper of Black River Falls; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Viola Larson, and a sister, Patricia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, both in Black River Falls. Rev. Eric Bakken will officiate.
Family and friends are invited for visitation from 5 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, and at the church on Friday from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M.
The Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the Black River Falls Evangelical Lutheran Church.
